Suggestion: Complete this assignment in small groups or have adult volunteers available to help the children during this creative process. Frustration will hinder enthusiasm and effort.
- Explain to the students that they will be reading an eBook that was created using storyjumper.com
- Read my eBook aloud:Traveling Through The Seasons which discusses each season in New Jersey and lists clothes worn during each of the four seasons. I suggest using a smart board or projector.
- Discuss the story elements of the eBook: title, author, dedication page, story sequence.
- Have the students describe each season and what clothing they like to wear.
- Print out the clothing page for each season in this book and display it in the classroom. The children will need to refer to this list for spelling guidance.
- Tell the children that they will now create their own eBook using storyjumper.com.
- Open up the Student eBook story starter below and demonstrate the tools needed to complete an eBook.
- Demonstrate how to add props and photos if they cannot find the images they need for their story.

- Title the book
- Add their name to the bottom of the cover
- Dedicate their book to someone special
- Add their name as Frankie's passenger to page 7 and add images
- Complete each season page by typing the clothes they would wear and add appropriate images
- Type in their favorite season on page 12 and add images
- Type what they like to do during their favorite season and add images
- Create more pages on their own if they wish
- Share their book with family and classmates
Conclusion:

- How the students felt about writing an eBook.
- Do they enjoy writing a story on paper or do they find using the computer more enjoyable?
- Have the students give reasons for their writing choice chosen.
